**The Opportunity**
**Position**:Pipelayer
**Location**: Kamloops, BC
**Qualifications**:
3 years of hands-on experience in underground civil utilities, covering a range of areas such as water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, and sewer lift stations.
Proficiency in basic plan reading, following written instructions, and assisting supervisors with layout.
Ability to check slopes and grades for compliance with plans using levels or laser equipment.
Knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements for slopes and grades.
Familiarity with bedding and compaction requirements.
Skill in cutting, beveling, and pipe installation.
Proficiency in grading or leveling trench bases using tampers and hand tools.
Capability to locate existing utilities using plans and a locator.
Experience in setting up pipe lasers and maintaining the required grade.
Tap services (¾ to 2 inches) using required equipment.
Alignment and positioning of pipes before bedding and backfill.
Proficient operation of basic tools of the trade, including pipe saw, builder's level, jumping jack, and a 1000 lb plate compactor.
Accurate daily record-keeping of production.
Various tasks such as grading trenches or culverts, positioning pipes, sealing joints, and dewatering.
**Certifications**:
Valid Class 5 Driver's License advantageous
Confined space
Level 1 First Aid
**Wage Range**:
Based on experience.
