**PROFILE**

We are currently seeking an energetic, detailed-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our fast-paced Accounting department. Performs a variety of clerical and accounting tasks, following standardized accounting policies and procedures in relation to one or more of the following accounting portfolios: payables, trust, and file opening in a fast-pace environment, often with multiple deadlines. The ability to work under pressure and maintain a client service focused approach at all times. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Handles a variety of transactions from routine to more complex, requiring familiarity with office accounting procedures and practises.
- Reviewing source documents and using specific accounting codes and classifications, posts to registers or subsidiary ledgers (i.e. account payable).
- Verifies consistency, completeness and accuracy of accounting documents, making corrections where necessary.
- Traces transactions through previous accounting work to determine any discrepancies.
- Liaises with internal/external clients to address any issues, escalating more complex issues to the Accounting Manager.
- Trust activities (backup support).
- Any other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2 + years of experience working in a professional environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members, with the aptitude to take care of clients’ needs in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary.
- Attention to detail is critical and ability to produce a high quality and quantity of work product.
- Work well in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert accounting system will be considered an asset.
- High school diploma and post-secondary courses in accounting.
