Plant Controller - Agrocrop

**The Role**

Agrocrop is looking for an experienced Plant Controller. Reporting to the VP Finance, the Controller will be a business partner managing financial control and accounting activities including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll approval, whilst ensuring financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, with required information.

The Controller will monitor financial operations results against operating plans and directs the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control activities and costs. Leads the financial and capital budgeting process. Recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs.

THIS IS FOR A NEW FACILITY OPENING AND WILL REQUIRE BUILDING THE FUNCTION AND THE TEAM - VAUGHAN AREA

The key priorities for this role include:

- Manages all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Assesses current accounting operations, offers recommendations for improvement, implements new processes, and evaluates accounting and internal controls systems.
- Manages and directs the preparation of the budget and financial statements, forecasts, and report variances
- Prepares and publishes timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinates the preparation of regulatory reporting with external auditors
- Supports month-end and year-end close processes
- Supports managers in preparing departmental budgets and reports actual vs budget variance monthly
- Manages and complies with provincial government reporting requirements and tax filings

Qualification:

- 5 - 7+ years’ proven working experience as a **Plant Manufacturing **Financial Controller
- **Manufacturing experience is required -** Food is an asset
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Proficiency in MS Suite
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication skills: ability to communicate information clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker

**Salary**: $125,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
