**Job Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree in a natural resource management related field and a minimum of 2 years *related experience; OR
- A technical diploma in a related field and 2 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and a minimum 4 years related experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience using online web mapping tools to identify interests on the land base.
- Related experience may include:

- Experience, understanding and working knowledge of key resource-based statutes and the relationships between policies and programs; and how these affect agency operations (environmental values, issues, land survey system, land use planning, and natural resources management concepts and processes).
- Negotiating and being able to inter-relate positively and respectfully with clients, groups, communities, First Nations, other government agencies and industry.
- Resolving complex natural resource-based problems and controversial issues with tact that may require innovation, adaptation, or deviation from existing policies or programs.

**Preference statement(s)**
- Experience providing leadership to work groups and/or project teams.
- Experience supervising and/or providing functional supervision to staff.

**Provisos /Willingness statement(s)**
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent.
- Willingness to do field work and to travel using aircraft, car and boat, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

**About this Position**:
This position can be based out of Fort St. John or Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek is a historical and beautiful town, with outdoor activities like bird watching and hiking past waterfalls in alpine meadows and mountains ridges. Camping and fishing spots can be found in the provincial parks of Swan Lake and Kiskatinaw. Downhill and cross-country skiing at the nearby Bear Mountain is popular with locals and those in nearby towns.

British Columbia’s oldest interior community, Fort St. John is perfect for scenic drives, hiking, fishing, and camping, as it sits alongside the Peace River. Hiking is particularly nice in the surrounding provincial parks of Beatton Provincial Park and Charlie Lake Provincial park, where camping is also available. Its gentle rolling hills are perfect for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter months.
