**ABOUT THE POSITION**

We are in search of a qualified Exhibit Custodian to join our team. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, the regular full-time position of **Exhibit Custodian **is responsible for the administration, management, storage, security and disposal of exhibits and evidence for the Port Moody Police Department. This role provides an essential service to the Department and includes Quartermaster duties as well as providing coverage for other priority roles within the Department as required.

**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE**
- A minimum of Grade 12 education supplemented with a minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience within a police agency. An equivalent combination of experience and education as acceptable to the employer may be considered.
- Completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course are considered assets.
- Experience using PRIME-RMS (Police Records Information Management Environment Records Management System), CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre), and the Canadian Firearms Program Web Service.
- Experience in the use of standard office computer software and equipment.
- Knowledge of _Criminal Code of Canada, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Canadian Evident Act _and various other federal provincial and municipal acts and policies.
- Knowledge of policies and guidelines related to the processes, procedures and methods of the seizure, handling, processing, packaging and storage of a wide variety of exhibits and evident including biological exhibits (i.e. blood, DNA, other human tissue) is required.
- Knowledge of police policies and procedures governing the work.
- Knowledge of PRIME-BC policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safe work procedures.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Excellent time management organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail including completing and reviewing details forms, reading, writing and proof-reading memos, letters, statements and other documents and correspondence.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Court personnel, Police members and other staff, all levels of government agencies and charitable organizations.
- Ability to deal courteously, professionally and tactfully with all concerns and questions raised by Police Members, members of the public and volunteers on the phone, in person and in writing.
- Ability to remain calm during hostile, stressful or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work both independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide solutions to problems that arise.
- Ability to effectively establish and adjust priorities in a rapidly changing work environment.
- Valid driver’s license for the province of British Columbia.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Police background security clearance.
