What to Expect
**JOB SUMMARY**:The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the purchasing processes, implementing and maintaining controls and making recommendations for the business while supporting the company’s operation. This individual is responsible for inventory management/control and purchase planning, value analysis, standards preservation, and negotiation.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Source out the best product and service options for our organization based on our established standards
- Research product, service and equipment options to increase our efficiency and profitability and reduce our costs
- Inventory control of Credo
- Negotiate vendor terms including pricing, contracts and maintain approved vendor list
- Assist, investigate and resolve purchase orders, invoices and receiving variances
- Manage bulk purchases such as Bell, Tellus, fuel card, IT purchases..etc.
- Monitor and track: usage and costs of consumables, services, equipment and repairs
- Design and implement processes/policies and controls over purchases, inventory management and vendor relationships
- Maintain open communication with vendors regarding buying opportunities, order status, delays/shortages, shipping, and delivery of goods and services
- Assist in the development and implementation of short/long term strategic sourcing plans
- Inventory control of equipment and tools such as cell phones, laptops and scanners
- Main point of contact for office equipment. Responsible for such things as vendor relationship, cost, efficiency, inventory, service, repairs, copy count, postage etc.
- Promote a service-oriented approach internally to our various projects and departments
- Compile and issue monthly bills to branch sites
- Ad hoc projects assigned
- Any additional duties as required
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary education in related discipline; or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of procurement experience
- Very strong negotiation skills
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, autonomy and accountability;
- Strong analytical skills and insight
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Accounting background would be an asset
