**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Property Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing non-certified building services and preventative and corrective maintenance to support University activities, client requests, events and to prolong the integrity of exterior grounds, internal areas, architectural and mechanical systems, features and equipment.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Replace burnt out lights.
- Unblock toilets, sinks and drains.
- Adjust simple mechanical systems. (i.e. change filters, verify fire shutters)
- Assist trade services in the assembly and set-up of small furniture.
- Assist trade services in performing general installations and minor repairs of building elements and accessories for all non-certified work.
- Perform small set ups for events as required.
- Install and remove scaffolding required to perform work.
- Inspect equipment, physical environments (i.e. classrooms, mechanical rooms, public areas) and buildings with the various trades to identify preventative and corrective actions required.
- Creates lists, collects and enters data into the computerized maintenance system and into other programs as required (i.e. Excel, Word).
- Assist in inventory maintenance for the various trades.
- Perform general clerical work as required to complete the above tasks.
- Assess work requirements and requests and follow-up on status of work orders.
- Maintains in good orderly condition the building exterior and interior, loading docks and public areas including but not limited to window cleaning, sweeping, clearing snow from entrances and emergency exits, distributing salt, maintaining and repairing roads, parking lots, walkways and drains.
- Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in building maintenance or other relevant certifications and three years of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma (DSS) and minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Building maintenance including repairs, installations & first response.
- Experience of Assessment, creation and monitoring of work orders.
- Strong customer service skill & inventory management.
- Knowledge of CMMS Maximo an asset.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge (Level 3) of spoken and written English; basic knowledge (Level 3) of spoken French.
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
- Will require use of respiratory protection and enrollment in the University’s Respiratory Protection Program.
- Enrollment in the University’s Hearing Conservation Program will be required.
- Have physical ability to frequently lift/carry/move without assistance up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) and occasionally lift/carry/move with assistance up to 45 kg (100 lbs.)
