Food Production Assistant

Guelph, Canada Green Table Foods Full time

We are looking for an individual to assist in our production department that will be responsible for producing over 10 different products in wholesale quantities in an industrial kitchen. This position will require the individual to not only aid in food production but also packaging product, completing distributor orders, and meeting daily business objectives. Individuals will also need to comply with CFIA standards and OHSA requirements. Training will be provided on CFIA and OHSA standards for food processing operation.

Qualifications:
The individual(s) must possess the following qualities:

- Able to work in a face paced and repetitive environment
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Able to communicate effectively with team members and management
- Working knowledge of culinary knife handling skills
- Works well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Able to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Able to lift at least 50lbs
- Work on their feet for 8 hours per day
- Able to read and manipulate recipes and measurements
- Working knowledge of wholesale distribution considered an asset
- Food processing and/or line cook experience considered an asset
- Food processing sanitization protocol experience considered an asset
- Forklift experience/certification is also considered an asset but not necessary
- Highschool diploma or equivalency required
- Culinary training preferred
