_**Position Summary**_

The Crushing Superintendent oversees, manages, and coordinates crushing operations including the safe and efficient production of high quality aggregate materials. The position requires a strong background in aggregate production, organizational abilities, leadership abilities and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- **Key Responsibilities**_

**Supervision & Leadership**:
Manage, lead, and coordinate teams of foremen, operators, mechanics and support staff involved in crushing operations

Lead and participate in meetings and briefings

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members

Work with managers, foremen, operators, mechanics, and support staff to avoid and resolve personnel issues

Monitoring of required quarry inventories and planning of screen changes or crusher moves as required to meet those requirements

Coordinate with quarry foreman to plan and initiate quarry development including clearing, grubbing and blasting

Review of resumes, interviews and hiring to fill vacant positions

**Operational Management**:
Oversee daily crushing operations to ensure production targets and quality standards are met

Monitor and adjust crushing processes to optimise efficiency and reduce downtime.

Solve problems and take corrective action when required

Coordinate with the Construction Division, including maintenance and quality control, to ensure seamless operations

**Safety & Compliance**:
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees

Conduct regular safety meetings and audits, addressing any potential hazards or concerns promptly

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies

Liaise with consultants, suppliers and other vendors

**Equipment & Maintenance**:
Ensure daily maintenance and repair of crushing equipment is being performed to minimize operational disruptions and ensure optimum equipment utilization

Work closely with the maintenance team to develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule

Manage equipment inventory and ensure necessary parts and supplies are available

Liaise with suppliers and other vendors

**Quality Control**:
Monitor aggregate quality and ensure it meets or exceeds industry standards and customer specifications

Implement and manage quality control procedures, addressing any issues that arise promptly

Liaise with customers, suppliers and other vendors

**Reporting & Documentation**:
Maintain accurate records of production metrics, equipment performance and maintenance activities

Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, including production quantities, safety incidents and maintenance issues
- **Qualifications**_

**Education**:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering, Mining or a related field an asset

**Experience**:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in aggregate production or a related field with at least 5 years in a supervisory role

Proven experience in managing crushing operations and teams

**Skills**:
Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent organizational skills

Strong mechanical aptitude

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Proficiency in operating and maintaining crushing equipment

Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- **Working Conditions**_

Full-time permanent position

Will require travel to different sites or facilities mainly in Northern Nova Scotia
