**Salary**: $71,700.00 - $89,600.00/Year

Working Hours: 35 hours per week (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)

Job Reports To: Banquet Manager

**Key Activities**:
Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible to oversee the smooth running of all meetings & events at the NAC. The Assistant Banquet Manager is additionally responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of quality standards within its team.

As a face of the Meetings and Events team, the incumbent is expected to be a visible leader, teacher and role model for the staff to follow. This position manages unionized staff and is responsible for all human resources management aspects of it, such as hiring, training, scheduling, etc.

The ideal incumbent has excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills and is at ease interacting with guests from varying backgrounds, is confident in their approach to problem solving and is able to juggle multiple priorities at once.

**Skill Requirements**:

- Post secondary diploma related to the service industry plus a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar or comparative role;
- Must be Smart Serve Certified;
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in both official languages;
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Must be able to take initiative and work calmly under pressure and with a team;
- A very strong knowledge of Meetings & Events operations and banquet style service techniques, cost controls, productivity, food cost, budgetary analysis and other expenses;
- Experience managing unionized employees;
- Advanced computer software knowledge including MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc);
- Knowledge of the Performing Arts and various disciplines.
