The General Service Worker may perform a variety of duties that are specific to, or combined with, the following roles. The specific responsibilities may include some of these duties but are not limited to these duties.

**Job Duties could include**
- Kitchen Aide_
- Prepare, cook and serve breakfast based on the Chef’s set out meal plan
- Prepare salads for the day, monitor and replenish the salad bar when items are low or bare, when required
- Assist the Chef, Cook and/or Baker with the meal preparation and delivery by aiding in food preparation including washing, peeling, cutting, stirring and/or cooking, assisting with serving, preparing plates, monitoring steam tables and replenishing food levels
- Participate in clean-up activities after meals including retrieving food, refreshments, plates, undressing tables, etc. from the dining rooms
- Perform daily cleaning of the kitchen, cooler, storage and dining rooms by washing, sanitizing, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing and polishing
- Monitor inventory of food and supplies and inform the Chef of products to be ordered, following first in first out (FIFO) rules
- Receive deliveries of supplies, check for quality and assist in storage activities
- Be an active member of the Kitchen Staff by communicating daily with the Chef, Cook and/or Baker regarding day-to-day food service operations, food preparation, efficiencies, faulty equipment, requirement of tools and supplies needed within the kitchen and dining room areas
- Dining Room Attendant_
- Prepare the dining room for meal service by setting tables, preparing condiments and hot beverages and ensuring all equipment is ready for use
- Provide meal service support to residents by assisting with describing menu options, taking order and serving beverages and food to residents as defined by Heartland Housing Foundation’s (HHF) guidelines and standards
- Greet residents upon arrival and complete a wellness check or follow-up with housekeepers to complete a wellness check for residents who were absent for the meal service
- Monitor and replenish food amounts during meals and snack times throughout the day
- Upon the completion of the meal service the DRA is responsible for ensuring the dining room including, tables, chairs, equipment, floors, etc. are cleaned, sanitized and polished and ready for the next meal service
- Cleaning and sorting of dishes, utensils, silverware, pots, pans etc. by handwashing and/or using the dishwasher, if required as part of your task list
- Provide assistance to other members of the dining room and kitchen as required

- Housekeeper_
- Responsible for ensuring all common areas, administrative areas and resident rooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and polished as per HHF set cleaning schedule, task lists and guidelines
- Perform laundry duties such as wash, dry, fold and put away required linens
- Monitor and replenish the appropriate stock of toilet paper, soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer and cleaning products
- Respond in an appropriate manner to resident and building alarms and emergencies
- Provide general building security, including security checks, arming/disarming doors, and answer phone calls after hours
- Be an active member of the housekeeping team by communicating daily with the team and the Assistant Manager of Operations, regarding day-to-day housekeeping operations, deficiencies, efficiencies, faulty equipment, requirement of tools and supplies needed for the department
- Dishwasher_
