Hairstylist (Braider)

**Sammy's Braids **is a hair braiding salon that prides itself on professional styling and exceptional customer care for our clientele. We have been operating in the Kawartha and Durham region for the past five years. We cater to all hair types from kinky to fine textured hair. We strive to create a hair culture on the realization that all hair types are uniquely beautiful and should be treated as such.

**Job Summary**:

- Seeking two exceptionally skilled braiders to work at our Durham location. This position requires someone who can stand continuously for a period of 8 or more hours to complete time consuming hairstyles. Training will be provided but previous experience will be required (experience outside of a salon is also welcomed).

**Requirements/Skills**:

- Excellent communicator ,welcoming and consulting with clients to create their desired hairstyle
- Remaining professional and hospitable during every engagement with clientele
- Passionate braider and well rounded natural hair stylist
- Ability to stand for long hours
- Maintaining the cleanliness of tools and work environment in between appointments
- Willing to work 5 to 6 days per week including weekends
- Prior experience at a salon is an asset
- Hair stylist license/apprenticeship will be an asset

**Salary**: $16.55 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- hair braiding: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Hairstyling license/registered apprenticeship ? (preferred)
