We are seeking a dedicated respite worker to provide temporary care for clients with physical, emotional, or cognitive limitations. Your duties will include coordinating care with primary caregivers, providing companionship, and supervising activities.

To ensure success as a respite worker, you should demonstrate experience in a similar role and working knowledge of CPR and first aid. Ultimately, a top-notch respite worker will be someone who can be relied upon to perform their duties with patience and compassion.

**Respite Worker Responsibilities**:

- Providing youth with physical or mental limitations the 1-1 support they require
- Administering prescribed medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Assessing the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of clients.
- Facilitating appropriate professional intervention, when required.
- Engaging clients in suitable activities, such as socializing, playing games, or reading out loud.
- Assisting clients with mobility, personal hygiene, eating, and drinking.
- Accompanying clients on medical appointments and outings.
- Performing general household duties, such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
- Maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.

**Respite Worker Requirements**:

- College Diploma or higher.
- Provincial-approved training, as well as CPR and first aid certification.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth.
- Available to work irregular hours, including night shift, weekends, and holidays.
- Extensive experience in supervising and assisting clients, as well as engaging them in suitable activities.
- Experience in monitoring clients' conditions and administering prescribed medications.
- Ability to perform basic housekeeping tasks, prepare meals, and run errands.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, a caring approach, and physical fitness.
- Ability to ensure clients' safety and provide comfort.
- Must have a Valid drivers licence and a safe car to use daily.
- Must have a clean criminal record.

**Salary**: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
