The Field Development Manager Group Sales, leads our small case Group Retirement Performers team, working closely with the Business Development sales and service team, providing project support, tools and resources to help promote our small case group retirement value proposition with advisors.

Representing and advocating for the Performers team, this role is critical to the implementation of sales in the small case market. Reporting to the Sales Director, Group Retirement Services, this position will assess, design, develop and will project manage initiatives to ensure effective delivery of our small case results. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys innovation, can execute multiple priorities and has a strong technical knowledge.

**What you will do**
- Oversee the operations of the Performers team:

- Ensuring effective recruitment, training, development, retention and performance of staff
- Ensuring staff are operating effectively, utilizing all technology and support available
- Ensuring superior customer service is being provided
- Develop and maintain team learning materials and resources
- Support various advisor distribution channels through the sales process specific to the Group Retirement Services (GRS) small case product which includes; how to prospect, product information, pricing information, proposal preparation and new plan implementation
- Build and foster relationships with advisors across Canada with the goal of making these customers comfortable in selling Group Retirement and savings plans and see Canada Life as their preferred provider in the small case market
- Leverage relationships with field management, staff, and head office partners on opportunities, challenges and initiative assessment
- Leading and contributing to working sessions with cross-functional teams to define and develop recommendations to address business needs
- Interacting directly with clients and advisors to assist in problem resolution on issues crossing administration and business development
- Represent the Performers team on the impact and benefit of projects, including analysis of impact; influence timing; process changes and technical and business training

**What you will bring**
- Proven leadership skills, including strong project management skills
- Work as a change ambassador, is people focused and solutions oriented
- Working knowledge of group retirement; minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Previous sales or service experience is an asset
- Solid technology skills; proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively drive change where required or gain commitment on plans, process changes, and decisions
- Demonstrated ability to deal with complex and escalated issues
- Self-starter with the ability to work well independently
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Outstanding customer service skills, communication and negotiation skills
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist - Retirement Plans Associate, Life License Qualification Program are an asset.
