Reporting to the Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapist Assistant position is a critical role with overall accountability for providing physiotherapy services for our residents to maximize their overall mobility, function and well-being.
**As part of our team, your role as a Physiotherapy Assistant contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways**:
- Assists the Physiotherapist in implementation of treatment plans for residents, including but not limited to gait training, balancing exercises, transfer training, range of motion activities and strengthening exercises.
- Applies modalities for residents in accordance with treatment plans, such as heat and ice therapy, ultrasound and use of TENS machine.
- Provides regular updates to Physiotherapist regarding material changes in residents’ mobility, function and well-being.
- Records daily treatments and maintains an organized system of records management for the Physiotherapist.
- Disinfects and sets up equipment for use in treatment of residents.
- Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**What You Need**:
- A certification or current enrollment in an accredited PTA program.
- Must possess one (1) year related work experience, preferably in long-term care.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must posses excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computerized documentation systems.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector check.
- All applicants must provide proof of being fully vaccinated, except due to legitimate established exceptions.

**Salary**: From $17.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- No weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Prescott, ON K0E 1T0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
**Experience**:
- LTC: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- PTA certificate (preferred)
