**Description**:
Liaison with Religious Community Visitors as needed to enhance patient care Participates in site orientation as needed. Prepares and presents workshop/education sessions for staff to help them better identify and support emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients. Provides tools and builds skills to enable other healthcare staff to undertake basic spiritual screening that may lead to referral. Participates and/or presents on a variety of topics to support the understanding of spiritual health care as part of health, such as: spiritual screening; spiritual history-taking; and spiritual assessment; grief and bereavement; end-of-life and life-review; compassion fatigue; patient
- centred care; response to trauma; personal resiliency-building and spiritual practices for self

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's in theology and/or Spirituality/Religion or a clinically related field with confirmation of educational equivalency obtained from the Academic Assessment Committee of the national professional association, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). 2nd Advanced Level, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with commitment toward certification as a spiritual care practitioner, (CASC) within three years. Current Membership or Associate Membership of CASC/ACSS. Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart & Stroke Foundation.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Two years of relevant spiritual health care experience as a certified spiritual care practitioner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience working in cancer care, palliative care and outpatient care in the last 2 years. Within the last two years, experience providing virtual care. Proficient with electronic medical systems (e.g., ARIA, SCM, EPIC, Connect Care) Proficient with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Demonstrated ability to collaborate respectfully and work effectively with various spiritual, religious, cultural groups, and all levels of staff. Knowledge of and skills to address the needs of people encountering crisis, suicidal ideation, coping with cancer and treatments, loss, bereavement and end of life care. Capacity and comfort with counseling skills and paradigms to provide one on one counseling with oncology patients and their families in a formal setting (e.g., booked counseling appointments). Self-reflective practices, assessing the impact of one’s own spirituality, beliefs, values, assumptions, and power dynamics in relationship with clients. Proactive in developing and implementing effective strategies to resolve issues and problems, creating safe spaces, and building bridges.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience working in an adult acute care setting within the last 5 years. Experience working within a chronic disease management framework with adult populations in an outpatient setting within the last 5 years. Experience facilitating groups. Demonstrated skills in assessment, intervention, system navigation and case management Demonstrated dedication to professional development.
