Reports to Deputy Chief, Operations

Location Lindsay, ON. Combination of general office environment and occasional off-site travel. Travel throughout the City of Kawartha lakes in accordance with job requirements. Regular requirement to drive a Paramedic vehicle during work hours.

Hours Normal working hours are 40 hours per week. Ability to work extended hours as volume and scope requires, including attending meetings and departmental emergency situations, which may be outside of normal business hours.

**Position Summary**
- Under the direction of the Deputy Chief, Operations, this position is responsible for various aspects related to fleet, equipment and supply management, including distribution, specification development, maintenance and decommission of ambulances and Emergency Response Units (ERU) to ensure compliance with provincial legislation and regulations, corporate policies and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLC) certification standards.

**Essential Duties**

**Specific to this role**:

- Coordinate the maintenance of fleet, including repairs, preventative maintenance, emission testing and annual inspections in accordance with required legislative standards and certifications
- Track fleet maintenance, vehicle related expenses and prepare reports using ACETECH
- Maintain asset records, asset tracking, maintenance schedules, medical consumables supply and demand through OperativeIQ software
- Receive, process and deliver inventory for Paramedic Services operations, ensuring inventory control software is updated and maintained; notify management of inventory required
- Ensure appropriate and cost-effective usage and deployment of equipment and supplies in accordance with quality assurance standards
- Ensure patient care equipment is picked up, cleaned and repaired as needed from local hospitals and returned to the appropriate Paramedic Services base
- Conduct minor repairs and general maintenance, including minor vehicle repairs at Paramedic Services bases, as necessary
- Responsible for stretcher maintenance, repairs and testing as well as maintenance of oxygen equipment records in accordance with MOHLTC standards
- Conduct deep cleans on all fleet vehicles in accordance with MOHLTC and departmental standards
- Assist in preparation, organization and follow-up regarding MOHLTC service reviews
- Participate in Public Relations programs and events, as required.

- Administer procedures and recommend resources to achieve strategic objectives
- Complete continuous research and analysis of industry trends and issues to make recommendations to management and remain current in area of specialty
- Manage stakeholder interactions in the supply and receipt of information, analysis, and resolution of issues
- Partner with internal process or program owners to share program objectives, analyze gaps, provide advice on actions to be incorporated in other’s processes, act as a program/service champion
- Manage customer service concerns, investigating, problem solving and responding as appropriate
- Maintain documentation and or databases and corporate records in accordance with policy and divisional practice; consider legislative municipal requirements such as MFIPPA
- Provide data to allow reporting and decision making
- Procure services and goods related to areas of responsibility
- Contribute to the development of annual program needs
- Provide other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Secondary school diploma with additional education in Materials Management or a related discipline is an asset; post-secondary diploma in Paramedicine or a related field is preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of related progressive experience in fleet management and/or inventory management
- Stryker Power Cot Maintenance certified is an asset
- Demonstrated experience in general automotive mechanics
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation including the _Ambulance Act_, _Highway Traffic Act_ and _Occupational Health and Safety Act_; MOHLC policies, procedures, guidelines and specifications related to fleet management, equipment and supplies; MOHLC Emergency Health Services division vehicle requirements and standards
- Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
