**About us**

James A Vance Construction is a small business in Woodstock, ON. Our goal is to Provide a safe working environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Basic Commercial/Industrial construction tasks
- Consistent and unwavering use of personal protective equipment(PPE) including safety glasses and steel toe boots

**Experience**
- Installing, setting and removing forms, scaffolding, ramps and barricades
- Experience in building concrete forms for various construction projects
- Experience in construction is an asset (will train)

**Skills**
- Must be able to work both independently with little supervision and collaboratively as part of a team, and provide support to site supervisor
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written along with valued ethics and integrity
- Skill set in general labour; knowledge of materials, methods and tools in construction of buildings and/or demolition, carpentry, concrete forming and setting, civil work, estimate height, width, length and other proportions
- Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment used to complete carpentry duties, including: circular and table saws, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used for measuring cutting, fastening and drilling

**Education**
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe operation of tools, safe lifting/handling and construction policies

**Requirements**:

- Valid Drivers License in good standing
- Excellent punctuality and time management skills
- Fluctuating weather and site conditions; indoor environment including but not limited to ladders, scaffolding and dust/fumes and other trade tasks environments
- Capable of lifting 50+ pounds, handling heavy loads, bending, couching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Able to work overtime as needed including weeknights and weekends
- Able to provide own transportation to shop

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime (occasional)
- Weekends (occasional)

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required
