Dog Trainer

Good Dog has an immediate opening for a Certified Dog Trainer at our Port Coquitlam and Port Moody locations to lead group classes.
This position is responsible for providing services as booked to training clients in a caring
and compassionate fashion, and following the curriculum provided by Good Dog.
**Start Date**: Immediately
**Hours**: Sunday to Thursday
Sunday 9am to 2pm, Monday to Thursday 6pm - 9pm
No training on holiday weekends.
**Job Type**: Part Time, 6 month contract with potential to move to permanent position after 6 months.
**Pay**: $28-46/hour dependent on experience level, education and skills.
**Locations**: Port Moody and Port Coquitlam _**Note**_: The Port Coquitlam location is not transit accessible.

**Responsibilities**:
- Adherence to the expectations and requirements of Good Dog's Dog Trainer job description
- Continuously remain engaged and passionate in the line of work
- Ensure the wellbeing of the dogs in our care
- Ensure clients see results and prebook follow-up sessions to increase repeat business
- Recommend Add On Services as needed
- Facilitate growth by encouraging clients to make use of other services and propose new services and programs to grow the business
- Develop strong relationships with clients and their dogs
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of training spaces and equipment
**Requirements**:
- 2+ years of experience providing training services to dogs.
- Animal CPR or First Aid Certification is considered an asset
- Certificate in dog training through independent certification programs, such as CPDT-KA Other certifications and designations will be considered.
- Proven ability to actively engage and lead in a team environment and compliance with protocols and procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to behave with respect and compassion
- Ability to build a good rapport with dogs and their guardians and have a friendly, patient nature and willingness to learn
- Possess a professional and upbeat attitude
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and speak English fluently
