**The Opportunity**:
Our Recreation Team has various Active Living Positions available within our facilities:

- Fitness Instructor
- Floor Staff
- Personal Trainer

**Our Fitness Instructors**:

- Prepare and deliver progressive fitness programs based on program objectives and required industry standards
- Provide program instruction/leadership at the appropriate skill level of participants. Start and end program on time
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Kinesiology/Recreation would be an asset
- Certified Fitness Instructor (Can Fit Pro or equivalent), or other specialty certification
- Familiarity with strength and cardio conditioning equipment

**Our Floor Staff**:

- Maintain Fieldhouse cleanliness
- Test and operate all equipment when possible, record and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately
- Monitor traffic flow in the Fieldhouse and all Fitness Rooms
- Guide patrons through proper exercise mechanics as required for their safety and educate patrons regarding weight room etiquette. Conduct group orientations on equipment as required
- Maintain high visibility and be available for facility patrons
- Certified Fitness Instructor (Can Fit Pro or equivalent), or other specialty certification would be an asset
- Familiarity with strength and cardio conditioning equipment

**Our Personal Trainers**:

- Prepare and deliver fitness programs following required standards
- Develop exercise programs to meet participants needs and goals
- Provide program instruction/leadership at the appropriate skill level of participants. Start and end program on time
- Book appointments and follow-up with clients
- Perform consultations and fitness appraisals
- Supervise program participants to ensure their safety
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Kinesiology/Recreation would be an asset
- Certified Fitness Instructor (Can Fit Pro or equivalent), or other specialty certification
- Familiarity with strength and cardio conditioning equipment

**Additional duties for all positions listed above**:

- Perform administrative tasks (i.e. attendance, preparation, Injury and Incident Reports etc.)
- Attend team meetings and training sessions
- Assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe environment for the program and ensure equipment is stored as required
- Immediately report incidents to the Recreation Coordinator or designate

**Additional training and skills required for all positions listed above**:

- Current Standard First Aid with CPR- C
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
