Baydo is looking for a passionate, assertive individual, that demonstrates enthusiasm for safety. The Health & Safety Coordinator reports directly to the HSE Manager and will have an in-depth knowledge of OH&S Acts and Regulations. Job location is for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide information to project management on safety-related actions needed on the job site and regulated requirements.
- Work efficiently and effectively with employees and management, often in stressful situations, and sometimes in demanding or time-sensitive situations, staying up to date of the latest changes to the applicable legislation.
- Establish and maintain networking relationships, must have good interpersonal communication skills, accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral and personal values in decisions, communications, actions when dealing with others.
- Coordinate and attend health and safety related meetings and training which include but is not limited creating and facilitating monthly/weekly crew safety meeting topics and agenda)
- Review all monthly crew safety meeting minutes and ensure all concerns are addressed, facilitates required orientation for workers.
- Attend and provide safety information and guidance in supervisor meetings.
- Participate and facilitate safety meetings, supervisor meetings and OHC meetings.
- Pay attention to detail with strong organizational skills, effective at managing multiple priorities.
- Assist in the maintenance and creation of safety standards and supporting documents. Enters data into safety data system(s).
- Skilled in using Excel program, Microsoft Word and File Maker.
- Observe, inspect and assist site operations to ensure work is being done safely and the site is in Regulatory compliance.
- Initiate corrective actions to eliminate hazards and promote a safe work environment.
- Follow up on corrective actions implemented.
- Site work will encompass 60-70% of this role.
- Work daily with employees to promote safety programs and accident prevention strategies.
- Support the investigation of incidents, determine causative factors, and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence, ensure incident reporting to OHS as per specified incident requirements and facilitate the claims process for injuries and file accordingly.
- Monitor all workers on site and ensures compliance. Monitor all weekly safety documentation completed and submitted on site. Follow up on outstanding weekly safety document submittal requirements.
- Coordinates the implementation of new procedures and processes or improvements to existing safety processes and procedures; monitors effectiveness, taking best practice principles into account.
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental policies, rules and regulations are posted as per regulations.
- Work with regulatory authorities at the site level to promote safety and assist to resolve any issues of non-compliance.
- Ability to work independently

**Qualifications and experience**:

- 2+ years of practical site construction experience, with excellent knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations.
- Certified Safety Officer (CSO or NCSO), safety training such as COR audit training, first aid, and other construction safety training is considered an asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada

Compensation will vary depending on the qualifications and experience of the individual. Baydo has a full health benefit package.
