Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools
- Install and secure structural steel beams, columns, and other metal components to form the framework of buildings, bridges, and other structures
- Erect precast concrete panels or steel girders and columns to form floors or walls of structures
- Install metal decking and cladding systems for roofs or walls
- Align and position steel components using hoists, cranes, or other lifting equipment
- Bolt or weld metal components together to form structural frameworks
- Inspect and repair existing structures to ensure they meet safety standards
- Collaborate with other construction workers to complete projects on time and within budget
**Skills**:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of construction principles
- Proficient in welding techniques for joining metal components
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Knowledge of ductwork installation and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with basic math calculations for measurements and dimensions
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery for material handling
- Proficiency in using power tools such as drills, saws, grinders, etc.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble metal components accurately
- Knowledge of using calipers or other measuring instruments for precision work
Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
