**Job Summary**:
The Medical Esthetics Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the medical esthetics program, ensuring they acquire the practical and theoretical skills needed to excel in the rapidly growing medical esthetics field. This position includes teaching advanced skincare, laser treatments, injectables (where applicable), and other medical-grade cosmetic treatments, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards. The instructor will also prepare students to work alongside medical professionals in clinical and aesthetic environments.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction on medical esthetics treatments, including but not limited to client consultation, sales techniques, skin analysis, manicures, pedicures, body treatments, massage, waxing, makeup, temporary lash extension, lash and browns tinting, radio frequency, microdermabrasion, chemical exfoliation, IPL and laser treatments, and other medical-grade aesthetic procedures.
- Provide in-depth theoretical knowledge of skin anatomy, skin conditions, treatment protocols, and the latest technologies in the medical esthetics field.
- Develop lesson plans, demonstrations, and assessments that align with the program’s curriculum and reflect current industry standards.
- Ensure students are prepared for certification exams and can meet clinical and industry standards upon graduation.
- Monitor, assess, and document students' progress through hands-on assessments, quizzes, and theoretical exams.
- Provide guidance and feedback to help students improve their practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment that supports student success.
- Offer career advice and mentorship to students aspiring to work in medical esthetics clinics or alongside healthcare providers.
- Ensure a safe and sterile learning environment by maintaining and enforcing industry hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Oversee the use and care of medical-grade esthetics equipment and ensure all students are trained to operate such equipment properly.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and performance records for students.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors, program coordinators, and industry professionals to continuously improve the curriculum and the overall program.
- Stay updated on trends, technologies, and regulations in the medical esthetics industry by attending professional development sessions, workshops, or conferences.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, including health and safety regulations, related to medical esthetics.
**Education and Qualifications**:
- Diploma or certification in Esthetics, Medical Esthetics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Additional certifications in medical-grade procedures such as laser treatments, microneedling, or injectables (if within the program's offerings) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in medical esthetics, preferably in a clinic, medical spa, or dermatology/aesthetic practice.
- Prior teaching or training experience in medical esthetics or a related field is an advantage.
- Expertise in advanced esthetics procedures, including laser treatments, skincare, and other medical-grade treatments.
- Strong communication, instructional, and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students while maintaining professional standards.
- Thorough knowledge of skin anatomy, product ingredients, and health and safety regulations related to medical esthetics.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- The instructor must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate student schedules, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
