**Azimuth Consulting Group Inc** is seeking **Intermediate Risk Assessors/Biologists **to join our collaborative and team-oriented group of scientists.

This intermediate role is suited for individuals with five to ten years of post-university experience in contaminated sites and/or environmental assessment and monitoring. This position will involve management and delivery of small
- and medium-sized projects or key technical tasks within larger projects with opportunities for leadership in areas of particular experience and technical competency.

**Organizational background**

**Responsibilities and scope of roles**:

- Managing small
- and medium-sized projects in areas of particular technical competency (with guidance and support from senior staff)
- Leading key technical tasks as part of larger Azimuth projects (with guidance and support from senior staff)
- Leading field programs to collect samples in support of human health and ecological risk assessments and/or environmental monitoring (e.g., aquatic environmental monitoring programs, environmental effects monitoring)
- Interpreting datasets, statistical analysis, and preparing written and graphical materials for reports
- Leading or assisting with report and proposal preparation
- Leading or supporting project managers in task and budget management
- Conducting literature reviews on toxicology, environmental chemistry, public health and related topics

**Essential skills, competencies & qualifications**:

- A university degree in toxicology, biology or a related field
- 5 - 10 years of progressive experience, ideally in a consulting environment, with demonstrated knowledge/competency of human health risk assessment, ecological risk assessment, toxicology and/or environmental monitoring.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with reliable attention to detail
- Field sampling skills to support data collection for risk assessment and/or monitoring
- Strong time management skills and a desire to advance your technical practice
- Positive contributor to a safe and fun work environment

**Additional desired qualifications**:

- Graduate degree in a relevant field.
- Professional designation (e.g., Registered Professional Biologist) or eligibility.
- Professional Project Manager (PMP)
- Strong research and analytical skills (data collection, compilation, and analysis), including statistical analysis and data management experience
- Proficiency in R for synthesizing and evaluating data
- Experience working with provincial and federal regulations and guidance on risk assessment, environmental quality guidelines or environmental effects monitoring
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous Peoples
- Project management experience / Project Management Professional certification.

**Details**

This role can be based in either Vancouver or Sidney, BC. Azimuth will also consider remote working, but has preference for working out of one of our offices during early stages of employment. You may be required to travel throughout BC and across Canada. This is a full-time position, but we are a highly-flexible workplace after you have settled in - Azimuth has many staff with varying work hours.
