Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health Program has an opportunity for a

**PSYCHOLOGIST, PERMANENT FULL TIME**

OPSEU 583 Hourly Pay Rate: $55.62 - $70.89

**Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health** provides neuropsychological assessment, cognitive intervention, and behaviour support services at Baycrest. The mission of our program is to provide excellence and leadership in clinical neuropsychological services. The program has an opportunity for a psychologist to provide behaviour support services to the inpatient Behavioural Neurology unit (4 West). The unit provides interprofessional treatment and intervention to patients with neurodegenerative disease and concomitant responsive behaviours.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Provides comprehensive clinical behavioural assessment and behavior support services to the Inpatient Behavioural Neurology unit and other Behaviour Support Services/Programs
- Provides training to staff and students related to behaviour support
- Provides comprehensive clinical assessments with a focus on identifying factors contributing to responsive behaviors utilizing a bio
- psychosocial framework
- Collaborates with client, care partners, and the client’s circle of care to develop and disseminate individualized behavior management interventions and care plans
- Participates in data collection and reporting on a number of accountability measures
- Supervises psychology interns and practicum students
- Attends and contributes to team meetings, patient rounds, and educational series
- Contributes to clinical research and innovation projects related to behaviour support services
- Other duties as directed

**Qualifications include but are not limited to**:

- P.h.D. in Psychology
- Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship preferred
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Experience/familiarity with behavioural, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental assessments relating to responsive behaviours
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of working with individuals with various neurodegenerative diseases including dementia, and those with acute behavioural changes and associated responsive behaviours
- Training and experience in applied behaviour analysis and behavioural support management approaches
- Training in or knowledge of Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), P.I.E.C.E.S., U-First, Montessori Approach preferred
- Demonstrated ability and experience conducting clinical research
- Demonstrated excellent clinical-reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and interprofessional collaboration skills
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite), and use of health information systems
- Experience with program development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives

**Total Compensation**:
This is an unionized position with SEIU.
