**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated Community Connector for a part-time position in Peterborough. The Community Connector will play a crucial role in fostering relationships within the community.
Seeking a reliable, engaging, and community minded person to provide support to an outgoing, thoughtful, friendly and creative young woman in exploring her interests and developing roles in the community. If you are a “people person” and an animal lover who may also enjoy biking, walking and kayaking, we look forward to hearing from you.
**Duties**:
- Engage with community members to understand their needs and concerns
- Connect individuals with appropriate community resources, services, and programs
- Organize and facilitate community events and activities to promote social connections
- Collaborate with local organizations to enhance community engagement
- Maintain accurate records of community interactions and outcomes
**Skills**:
- Proven experience of working with someone who has a disability, and their family may be beneficial
- Certification and training in CPR and First Aid are an asset
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
- No PSW certification or diploma is required
**Requirements**:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to provide a current and satisfactory vulnerable sector search.
- Having access to a reliable mode of transportation is an asset and/or if you are an experienced public transit user.
- Empathy and understanding towards diverse community members
- Knowledge of local resources and services is a plus
**Job Type**: 6 month contract - With the potential to renew
**Hours**:
There is some flexibility however, we are looking for someone who has afternoons available Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the occasional evening available which would be between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m.
Total of approx. 15 hrs/week
**Rate of Pay**:
$25 per hour depending on experience.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
