**Salary**: $2,694.27 to $3,537.86 bi-weekly ($70,320 - $92,338/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
The position provides technical oversight, workflow management, support and problem resolution to facilitate the collection of new, and update of existing geospatial data.

The Base Access Specialist is responsible for the management of spatial databases to enable internal and external users to fulfill their business needs. This involves working in the enterprise geospatial data environment managing versioning, replication, validation and the flow of data into, and out of, the editing and publication environments for all geospatial data related to human activity, such as roads, trails, other linear disturbances as well as industrial sites.

This position is expected to provide solutions when technical issues arise and engage in testing to prevent issues that may accompany new installations and upgrades.

This position is also expected to contribute to the design of new geodatabases, provide support for any associated web mapping sites and to provide support for automation as part of the workflow modernization process.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Recruitment Standard**:

- Two-year technical diploma in Geomatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Cartography, or related natural resource field plus six years related experience; or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience;
- or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience in the use of ArcGIS software, such as ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ESRI Enterprise Portal environments.
- Experience in working with and the interpretation of aerial and satellite imagery in ArcGIS software.

**Assets**:

- Proficiency in enterprise geospatial data management with an understanding of acquisition and provisioning is mandatory.
- Familiarity with anthropogenic geospatial data (i.e., roads, cutlines, trails, pipelines, power lines, railways, and facilities).
- Proven skills in geoprocessing, scripting (i.e., Python, JavaScript, and others) and automation of GIS workflows.
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience.
- Contract management and procurement experience.
