**About you.**

You are a highly motivated and organized individual with a deep understanding of the venture capital industry and its key players. You excel at building and maintaining strategic relationships and have a track record of executing high-impact business development initiatives. You are a strategic thinker, able to make actionable recommendations and focus on clear objectives and outcomes. Entrepreneurial in spirit, you are prepared to lean in and contribute where needed, while positively collaborating with team members.

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Partnerships will manage the planning, administration, and execution of strategic business development activities and partnership development within the venture capital ecosystem. Key responsibilities include:

- Develop systems, strategies, and methods to efficiently build and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, angel investors, startups, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute high-priority business development opportunities within the innovation economy
- Create and implement a comprehensive strategic business development plan targeting new and existing revenue-generating partnerships.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other senior leadership to advance strategic projects and make informed decisions based on sharp business development insights.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, while effectively promoting our mission, vision, and value proposition.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive the planning and execution of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and competitive landscape, providing insights and recommendations for proactive strategic adjustments.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA, advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred (such as working in a high growth venture backed company)
- **No more than** 10 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or a related role within the venture capital industry or innovation ecosystem.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic relationships that lead to revenue generating opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

**Benefits**
- Compensation: The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.
- Expectation: You will be integrated into a high performing team and culture of excellence. This is a demanding role and will require significant focus for you to be successful.
- Other: This role is fully in-person in the NACO office located in the MaRS Heritage Building at 101 College Street in Toronto. You can expect working hours similar to venture capital or Bay Street firms with evenings and weekends, as required.
