Coeur Mining, Inc. is a well-diversified growing precious metals producer with five operations in North America. Coeur’s wholly-owned operations include the Palmarejo silver-gold complex in Mexico, the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in British Columbia, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company owns the La Preciosa project in Mexico, a silver-gold exploration stage project. Coeur also conducts numerous exploration activities in North and South America. Coeur’s headquarters are located in Chicago, IL.

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a **Health, Safety, Training & Emergency Response Coordinator** to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a 2 week on and 2 weeks off schedule.

The **Health, Safety, Training & Emergency Response Coordinator **will report to the HST & ERT Supervisor.

**Job Duties**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, training, and ERT programs, procedures, and processes.
- Direct and support site emergency response teams training.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safety policies and procedures and site rules pertaining to a Northern BC underground mining operation.
- Establish professional relationships to ensure compliance by all management, supervisors, and employees with British Columbia regulatory and company requirements as they relate to the safe and healthy operation of the mine site.
- Support the department to maintain site emergency response capabilities, including delivery of training material and maintenance of emergency response equipment in accordance with a planned maintenance schedule.
- Identify and anticipate health and safety concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational and occupational conditions; investigate violations, and recommend evidence based preventative measures.
- Conduct and create training and communication for management and staff using internal and external resources on health and safety.
- Lead incident investigations identifying root causes and assisting in the development of meaningful corrective actions.
- Strong and engaging presenter with exceptional communication, facilitation, and training skills.
- Analytical and strategic skills to identify best practice approaches to the design and implementation of health and safety programs and to contribute to the development and achievement of the Company’s objectives.
- Performs tasks related to the Industrial Hygiene program including sampling and surveys as directed.

**Position Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety preferred or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience, plus additional safety certifications and training.
- 5 + years of experience working in health and safety within the mining, construction, or resource industries.
- Experience as Mine Rescue Coordinator or Captain / Vice Captain.
- Experience in and certification for either underground or surface rescue and firefighting.
- Knowledge of B.C. governmental regulations as they relate to Health & Safety in a mining environment.
- Occupational First Aid Level 3 or current similar level emergency medical response certification.
- Valid driver's license (minimum provincial Class 5).
- BC Mine Supervisor certificate (or ability to attain)
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
