**Position Overview**:The Daycare Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from the daycare facility. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills to interact with parents, caregivers, and daycare staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Safe Transportation**:Safely operate the daycare van, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Ensure all children are properly secured in appropriate child safety seats or seat belts before departure.
Maintain a secure and controlled environment within the van during transit.

**Route Planning**:Plan efficient and safe routes to pick up and drop off children at designated locations.
Consider factors like traffic conditions, weather, and special requirements for individual children.

**Child Supervision**:Monitor children's behavior and interactions during transportation to maintain a calm and safe environment.
Address any behavioral or safety concerns promptly and appropriately.

**Communication**:Establish positive communication with parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up times.
Provide updates on any delays, changes in schedule, or incidents during transportation.
Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure a smooth transition for children between the van and the daycare facility.

**Vehicle Maintenance**:Perform regular pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
Keep the interior of the van clean and organized.

**Emergency Preparedness**:Familiarize oneself with emergency procedures and protocols, including first aid and evacuation plans.
Remain calm and take appropriate actions in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies.

**Documentation**:Maintain accurate records of daily transportation activities, including routes, pick-up and drop-off times, and any incidents or issues.
Ensure all required paperwork, such as permission slips and emergency contact information, is up-to-date and readily accessible.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in child transportation, childcare, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child safety regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, attentiveness, and a nurturing demeanor.
- Ability to handle unexpected situations with composure.
- Physical ability to assist children in and out of the van and handle child safety seats.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant screenings as required by province regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
