Playground Carpenter

At **Earthscape**, we create beautiful, innovative custom playground sculptures and structures that inspire children and adults to creatively play. By partnering with some of the most prestigious Landscape Architecture firms in North America, we bring brilliant playground concepts to life. Our award-winning design-build firm is located just outside of Elmira, Ontario in Waterloo Region.

Currently, we are looking for a **Playground Carpenter** **to join our growing team.** The role of this team member is best suited to someone who is interested in custom manufacturing and design, but also someone who is comfortable working outside the box; our playgrounds don't fit within regular building code categories.

**Who are we looking for?**

As a Playground Carpenter, you:

- will work with an experienced team of engineers and wood craftspeople and carpenters and will bring your _keen eye for construction design_ to help us figure out how to best build our playground structures and sculptures;
- enjoy physical work with large timbers to build custom designed playable-wood sculptures;
- must know how to read construction drawings from our Engineering department;
- be competent in operating all types of standard wood shop machinery;
- have excellent problem solving skills - our designers and Engineers are constantly looking for feedback on how best to construct our unique playground pieces;
- will be a critical part of conversations to discuss what worked and what didn't work for each project;
- will work with a team of engineers and wood craftspeople and carpenters to build our playground structures and sculptures;
- have great attention to detail;

**Compensation**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour based on experience
