**Your Contribution to NRSI**
NRSI is looking for a qualified individual with primary expertise in plant identification, botanical inventories, wetland and other natural feature delineations, and Ecological Land Classification (ELC) surveys to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be based out of our Waterloo office and expected to regularly contribute to both field
- and office-based tasks. The primary duties and responsibilities for this role include:

- Completing background reviews of natural heritage features.
- Leading vegetation inventories and participating in other surveys, as required.
- Managing and analyzing data.
- Preparing and reviewing reports.
- Coordinating terrestrial and wetland field surveys and providing other project management support.

**Your Education**:

- A degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences. Similar educational experience will also be considered.

**Requirements**:

- A valid driver's license.
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle insured for work purposes (authorized mileage will be reimbursed).
- Able to reliably commute on a daily basis to the work location.
- Experienced (minimum 5 years) in planning and conducting vascular plant inventories.
- Technically skilled and proficient in the identification of challenging families of vascular plants, such as Cyperaceae, Juncaceae, and Poaceae.
- Willing and able to travel for multi-day field surveys, sometimes in remote locations, under inclement weather, in a variety of environmental conditions, and occasionally for long hours.
- Physically fit, as some field work for this position will be physically demanding.
- Ability to work independently on a regular basis as well as collaboratively in a team.
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail, including the maintenance of well-organized and detailed field notes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in report writing, data entry and analysis.
- A commitment to continual improvement of technical abilities.

**Assets**:

- Certification in ELC for southern or northern Ontario, and/or OWES.
- Experienced in project management.
- Experienced in habitat restoration, waterbody assessment, and/or completing surveys for wildlife (e.g., pollinators/insects, herpetofauna, birds, or mammals).

**Salary**:$34.00-$40.00 per hour commensurate on experience.
