Food and Beverage Service Supervisor

Elmhirst’s Resort is an all season, cottage resort and conference/wedding facility located on Rice Lake, (approximately 25 minutes from Peterborough). Food and beverage venues include a 50 seat farm to table dining room featuring regional cuisine matched with 100% Canadian wines, a 50 seat family restaurant with patio, a 120 banquet room, a 120 seat conference facility, plus an 80 seat conference and banquet facility. Elmhirst’s Resort is a firm believer in sustainability and practicing responsible stewardship of the land and water that is so important to our business and or community.

This position involves supervising food and beverage service team members in restaurants and/or banquet venues on a shift-by-shift basis. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager.

**Food & Beverage Service Supervisor Responsibilities**:

- Ensure restaurant or banquet preparations and set ups are complete prior to service
- Conduct pre-service meetings to ensure staff is knowledgeable about special offerings, service requirements, sections, and closing/reset requirements
- Provide service to guests in accordance with resort service standards
- Coach service team members under supervision to serve according to service standards
- Assist Food & Beverage Manager with training, coaching and discipline as required
- Ensure service stations are stocked and restock accordingly
- Assist with inventory controls
- Harmonious relationship with kitchen brigade, fellow food and beverage service team members, housekeeping and front desk
- Service staff is well informed and prepared for service under your supervision.
- Complete special projects as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Smart Serve certification
- Experience in the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership ability
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- A team player
- Working shifts as business levels dictate
- Highly responsible & reliable

**Pay / Hours**:

- Starting at $17.00 per hour
- Generous tips available
- Full time position approximately 40 hours per week consisting of variety of days/evenings, weekdays/weekends and holiday shifts
