Thrift Store Sales Associate

Providing backup to part time thrift store clerk positions and reporting directly to the Thrift Store Manager, the Thrift Store Clerk will undertake a range of duties within a thrift store environment, ensuring a high standard of customer service.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Uphold the core values and mission of the Salvation Army while conducting daily tasks and interacting with customers and other staff members
- Work well with a team and can work independently
- Contribute to a positive, uplifting environment within the store for both staff and customers
- Implement store layout plans to attract customers including window displays and merchandise displays, ensures attractiveness of the store through "Tidy Maintenance"
- Replenish inventory levels based on Supervisor's directions
- Contribute to the control of inventory by retrieving, sorting, and pricing as per directions
- Contribute to meeting store sales budgets by maintaining customer service standards
- Provide customer service through offering assistance, processing sales, accepting donations
- Sort incoming products
- Protect the store from inventory shrinkage by close visual monitoring
- Contribute to the health and safety of staff and customers through vigilance and due diligence
- Take responsibility for the accurate completion of all customer transactions including visa, debit, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Completion of High School

**Experience**:

- More than three months of prior, related experience

**Required Skills/Knowledge**:

- Able to concentrate and be flexible
- Able to provide positive customer service and attentive listening skills directing visitors and answering telephone calls
- Requires substantial amount of standing, moderate amount of lifting, occasional cutting and carrying supplies
- Required to lift more than 20lbs
- Background check consent
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
