Reporting to the Senior Regional Health and Safety Manager, the Claims Coordinator is part of a high-performance, professional team responsible for providing support and advice for injury management within Cooke’s operations.
- Prepare for and participate in monthly & weekly compensable claim check-ins.
- Maintain database of current and past claims, capturing all updates weekly.
- Maintain accurate records on sequence of events during life of claim within the internal reporting system.
- Perform duties within the WCB Management team and provide support to operations throughout the injury management process.
- Work in conjunction with the Occupational Health Department
- Work together with site/facility supervisors and managers to gather required information and documentation to complete electronic submissions to the applicable Compensation Board.
- Coordinate with site/facility supervisors and managers to offer modified duties in accordance with an injured worker’s shift cycles and functional ability to prevent time loss.
- Respond within 48 hours upon receiving communications from workers compensation boards.
- Review and verification of monthly claim cost statements.
- Participate in Return-to-Work Planning Meetings with WCB, Occupational Therapists, HR.
- Assist in administering all Cooke's Worker’s Compensation Provincial accounts.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the in WCB claims management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Solid proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Able to evaluate alternative solutions and develop sound conclusions, recommendations, and courses of action;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment;
- High level of integrity and work ethic;
- Ability to successfully handle stressful situations efficiently and effectively;
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instruction;
- Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving are essential, with the ability to independently make tough decisions.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills;
