**Beauvais Lake Provincial Park **is looking for highly motivated, well-organized and responsible Maintenance Supervisor for the summer season. This individual will supervisor a team at a multi-site level, ensuring day-to-day maintenance and operations duties support faculty operations of Alberta Parks campgrounds, day use areas and trail systems.
The majority of work for this position is completed outdoors and requires daily handling of chemicals, use of hand and power tools and driving light duty trucks. This job can be physically demanding and also requires basic understanding of computer operations for minor administrative tasks such as time entry and approval.
As part of the Maintenance team, you strive to maintain Alberta Parks’ high standards to ensure quality customer service and safety is provided at all times.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and providing leadership and guidance to the maintenance service worker team
- Provide on-site support and coordination of daily tasks
- Responsible for reporting back to supervisor on completed tasks and identifying outstanding field or maintenance issues
- Ensure staff receive appropriate training
- Responding to in-person requests for information on area amenities and parks conditions, as needed
- Identify any maintenance requirements throughout the various parks and report back to Supervisor
- Working alongside maintenance service workers and ensuring daily activities and projects are completed to a high standard:
- Routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities including campgrounds, day use areas and trails systems
- Routine lawn and grounds maintenance
- Routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment
- Trail and sign projects
- Safe operations of small and mid-size equipment
- Performing other maintenance related tasks such as contract observation, supply procurement and vendor relations
- Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols

- Some high school education plus two years of related experience with preference for supervisory or leadership and maintenance experience
**Other Requirements**:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent) and a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate
- Defensive Driving training
- Availability to work weekend and holiday shifts
**Assets**:
- Good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance and safety of small equipment, hand tools and power tools
- WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training
- Carpentry, plumbing and/or electrical experience
- Chainsaw certification
- OHV certification
- Computer skills
- Skid steer certification
- Experience in cleaning/custodial work or landscape maintenance
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong communication, time management and team work skills
- Local knowledge of park facilities and services in the Southwest area
- Familiarity with campground operations
