**Job Summary**:
As the Project Manager, you are responsible for managing projects during the entire project life cycle in accordance with best practice project management standards commencing from project planning until closing. The incumbent will organize, schedule, and coordinate all aspects of specific assigned projects with all internal resources and external parties including the customer, ensuring the highest quality production within time and budget parameters, providing direction, training, guidance, and regular reviews of work performed by Project Leaders.

**Responsibilities**:
**Project Planning**
- Review the customer PO and identify concerns, issues, risks, and challenges to be managed and ensure the project is correctly set up in Epicor (ERP) for proper management, reporting and control.
- Prepare project schedules and installation requirements.
- Conduct manufacturing and assembly reviews with Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager.
- Monitor all project schedules (revising as required), installation requirements, manufacturing reviews and assembly reviews to ensure that projects are on time and within budget.

**Project Budgeting**:

- Develop budgets for approval for all project functions, including manpower, major capital, material purchasing, external fabrication, and training requirements.
- Review the quotations versus requirements of projects. Prepare requisitions and approve POs for long lead materials and external service requirements, (i.e., PHSR Inspection, weld inspections, installation contractors, etc.).

**Project Management**:

- On a weekly basis, for both Mechanical and Electrical Control Design, review and monitor design progress with the assigned designers and Engineering Manager(s).
- Conduct design team meetings, document status, and provides direction for moving forward.

**Employee Management**:

- Regularly review design and project leader resource requirements to ensure that adequate resources are available to carry out projects.
- Communicate project team schedule milestones to department managers to allow for resource planning.

**Cost Tracking**:

- Perform cost tracking monthly and at project completion for assigned projects.
- Review cost tracking monthly and at end of project with management, project leaders and teams.
- Assist to identify and align with best practices for cost and schedule management in accordance with PMBOK standards.
- Conduct Project invoicing reviews including original and extended Change Order scope with AGM or Management on a monthly basis.

**Project Control**:

- Approve quotations, customer P.O.s prior to starting project.
- Approve design changes to be made.
- Conduct Engineering Kick-off meetings for new projects and disseminate the design / contract requirements to the project team.
- Review and approve engineering drawing packages for manufacturing and identify budget and schedule for delivery.
- Conduct design reviews with customer and design team.
- Obtain formal and informal concept / design approvals and formal equipment approval from customers.
- Approve shipment of equipment and act as primary contact with customer.
- Approve design changes to be manufactured with or without formal customer consent.
- Conduct equipment reviews with customer, design team and assembly teams.
- Reviews status of purchased items and materials.
- Generate and maintain project open issues lists through the different stages of the project.
- Coordinate project review meetings, customer FAT visit, SAT run off, and close out/ lessons learned meetings.
- Identify, assess, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensure the timely resolution of issues by maintaining project open issues lists and escalating issues outside of project team’s scope of responsibility.
- Define when the project is completed and ready for close-out and follow appropriate process to close projects.

**Systems Implementation**:

- Support and implement procedures and systems for the effective organization and easy retrieval of all project records and documentation.
- Support the collection of records for all projects and support document updates for all procedures, work instruction, and form changes.
- Support Proposals group in preparation of quotations for customers as requested.

**Requirements**:

- Completion of a university/college program in engineering or engineering technology
- 7-10 years’ experience in mechanical design
- 5-7 years’ experience as a team lead or equivalent experience
- Experience relevant to automation and/or assembly equipment industries is a must.
- Working knowledge of various design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- A good working knowledge of electrical, controls and pneumatic systems
- Experience overseeing projects within the pharmaceutical industry is required.
- Minimum 5+ Years’ experience with engineering of automated machinery and robotics
- Understanding of GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) processes
