**Job Summary**:
Reporting to Manager, Housing Services this position provides direct supervision to a multi-disciplinary team responsible for administering Rent Geared to Income/Housing Allowances for Halton Community Housing and the Rent Supplement Program.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide direct supervision to multi-disciplined team responsible for administering Rent Geared to Income (RGI)/Housing Allowances for Halton Community Housing and the Rent Supplement Program.
- Recruit, orient, train and provide ongoing supervision and performance management of staff within a unionized environment. Provides conflict resolution and conducts annual performance plan reviews.
- Recruit, orient, train and manage the learning goals of placement students.
- Ensure the effective delivery of programs, services and outcome targets, as identified by the Province and/or divisional management team, by overseeing ongoing program reviews and evaluation, developing/implementing internal policies and procedures and interpretation of and monitoring compliance with related legislation.
- Conduct regular and ongoing audits to ensure program eligibility, entitlement and integrity. Identifies individuals and or team learning needs and responds as appropriate.
- Develop operational guidelines, procedures and reports as needed.
- Oversee and maintain customer service standards by responding to participants in crisis and ensuring appropriate intervention occurs, responding to inquiries in a timely manner and fostering and maintaining community partnerships.
- Provide direction and support to Housing and Community Services providers as well as staff on technical and legislation/policy matters relative to RGI and rent supplement.
- Provide technical support regarding the Yardi Enterprise Program.
- Measure and reports on the status of initiatives under the portfolio.
- Monitor the budget for the Rent Supplement Program.
- Act for the Manager, Housing Services in their absence.
- Liaise with Supervisors from other program areas for improved service delivery.
- Participate on Departmental, Divisional and external committees.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- A degree or diploma in a Human Services/Social Services Program.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in social housing or social services field.
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive supervisory experience.
- Sound knowledge and interpretation of provincial legislation and local and/or provincial directives as it relates to the Housing Services Division.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, collaboration ad decision-making skills.
- A high degree of political acuity is required along with a sound knowledge of relevant legislation for Housing Services including the _Housing Services Act _and _Residential Tenancies Ac_t.
- Strong analytical skills and capability in program compliance, program integrity and ensuring customer service standards are met.
- Excellent computer skills are required including MS Office and YARDI.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Preferred**
- Previous experience managing staff in a unionized environment.
