**Job Summary**:
This is a leadership position at Archway Urban Farm. The Crop Production Supervisor oversees and supervises the overall crop production with support staff to ensure the Urban Farm has adequate volume and variety of crops available for weekly sales and other needs. A wide variety of crops are grown in field conditions and in unheated greenhouse settings. The work varies from week to week and will be physically demanding - a combination of walking, bending, standing for long periods of time, lifting, and repetitive activities - will be required. This role benefits from attention to detail and being organized, methodical, and precise in the day-to-day tasks, observations, and communications. The Crop Production Supervisor will be a key part of the Harvest Team and will support the Community Coordinator in managing the produce to be sent to farm markets, and in representing the Urban Farm booth at the farm markets. **Please note the nature of the work requires that you be outside for the majority of the time.**

**Your Role**:
Archway’s Crop Production Supervisor with the Urban Farm contributes by:

- Being responsible for overall crop production, including but not limited to, crop management, seeding, bed preparation, compost production, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and preparing produce for market.
- Understanding and responding to fertilizer needs, pests and diseases, and growing conditions of crops and their associated requirements.
- Managing crop rotations over full-term of the growing season.
- Assisting in training and managing support staff and volunteers.
- Ensuring that food safety protocols, and health and safety rules and regulations are being met.
- Assisting with farm events as needed.

**Our Offer**
- Wage: $21 per hour
- A part-time, seasonal position at 30 hours per week, 9am - 4pm Monday - Friday some evening or weekend work required. Note: the majority of the work is done outdoors.

**Getting an Interview - you will be considered if you have**:

- High School diploma with experience in crop management OR a diploma or degree in Horticulture, Biology, Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Agriculture Business, Crop Science, Crop Production, or in a related discipline OR a combination of education and/or experience.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- Completed Fitness Test.
- First Aid Certificate is an asset or willingness to be trained.
- Experience in farming is an asset.
- Experience in supervision is an asset.

**The Job Requires you to have**:

- A satisfactory criminal record check is a condition of employment.
- Ability to do physical labour related to garden maintenance and crop production, which will include periods of constant motion including walking, repetitive tasks, lifting, and long periods of standing.
- Physical ability to lift between 20-30 lbs (e.g., tent, table, crates and tubs).
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Willingness and flexibility to work weekends, specifically Saturdays is required.
- Access to a reliable, personal vehicle, and ability to drive to and from events as needed.
- Ability to adhere to health and safety protocols as the position has a high level of social interaction and engagement.
- Up-to-date Tetanus vaccine is strongly recommended.
