**Position Summary**

Under the general direction of the Regional Director, Hotel Operations, this position is responsible for pursuing and servicing business for the Woodbine Casino Resort, Pickering Casino Resort and Great Blue Heron while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, develops strong relationships with new and repeat guests and is accountable for the sales of in-house conferences and events including, meeting rooms, catering, theatre and casino related functions and events. Finds and develops markets in coordination to the need-periods of the properties.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Solicits, negotiates and books new and repeat business through mailing, on
- site inspections, referrals, tradeshows, etc.; maximizes sales and profitability.
- Build lasting and productive client/agent relationship though effective and efficient proactive sales management.
- Plans, up-sells and details meetings and function with the client, including space requirements, dates, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, etc.
- Conduct site tours/inspections throughout all properties
- Manages and resolves guest issues efficiently and promptly
- Maintain accurate records on all guests, orders, payments and expenses
- Develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition and guests’ requirements
- Travel when required to promote hotel and secure potential future business
- Assists the Regional Director, Hotel Operations to develop new sales and catering marketing strategies to increase guest satisfaction and maximize profits
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed

**Education and Qualifications**
- High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
- SIR, Smart Serve or IGB Certificate
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Sales and Catering
- Superior skills in Microsoft Office: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Opera an asset
- Experience in BT market an asset
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization and negotiation skills
- Extremely detail oriented and great time management.
- Self-motivated, has the ability to multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

**Work Environment Considerations**
- Regular office environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required.
