Early Childhood Educator

Duties:

- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for young children.
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for children.
- Provide individualized attention and support to each child's needs.
- Monitor and assess children's progress and development.
- Collaborate with parents and communicate regularly about their child's progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations and maintain necessary documentation.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus.
- Bilingual skills are beneficial for effective communication with diverse families.
- Proficiency in computer operation, including the ability to use educational software.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education with applicable designations (Infant/Toddler and/or Special Needs)
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator License to Practice;
- Valid First Aid & CPR certificates;
- Clear BC Criminal Record Check;
- Immunization Record; Physician’s Form of Suitability.
- Proven knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and Inclusion Practice
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and team player
- Solid organizational skills to address changing priorities and interruptions in a busy environment

The position is physically demanding and includes lifting with weight, crouching, bending, standing, sitting, outdoor work, and exposure to noise. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

**Salary**: $18.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
