**Summary**:
Position is responsible for executing accounting and control functions at/for complex operational entities such as mines, large SOP production facilities, or for multiple reporting entities in North America. This includes maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of month end journal entries and adjustments, proper interfaces with other systems, as well as preparation of standardized reporting protocols. The incumbent will ensure proper adherence to company controls through cross-functional collaboration. This includes but is not limited to completion of SOX control protocols, inventory observations and reconciliations, and any other duties that may arise from time to time. Incumbent is also required to develop ad hoc reports to support management. Incumbent is the finance business partner at their site and provides counsel and advice to the site manager as well as management in Overland Park. This includes complex analysis and development of business case information to support the mine operations.

**Essential job functions include, but are not limited, to the following**:

- Maintain production location general ledger in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Oversight of all Goderich mine finance staff and effective cross-functional collaboration to ensure completeness and accuracy of the general ledger.
- Execute closing activities, prepare and review month-end closing entries.
- Detailed accounting info to better standardize processes.
- Improve and maintain control environment. Execute SOX requirements.
- Support site management with analysis and ad hoc reporting, review financial results with local management monthly.
- Support corporate management with analysis and ad hoc reporting.
- Execute standardized reporting protocol including financial statements.
- Lead all budgeting and forecasting processing processes, actively seeking input from operations personnel.

**Qualifications**:

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 10+ years of experience including experience in a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Experience working for a publicly traded company utilizing standard costs preferred.
- CPA, CMA certification preferred.
- Advanced level proficiency with Excel; JD Edwards and One Stream experience a plus
