**JOB SUMMARY**:
Position Summary:
The Guest Attendant - U.C.P is responsible and accountable to the Director of Wellness for providing optimum services to promote the well-being of each individual resident. This designation typically has the delegated responsibility for medication administration.

Key Responsibilities:
Ø Participates in the overall wellness process developed by the RH to promote the well-being of each resident;
Ø Monitors resident health changes and reports to the Director of Wellness all concerns or health status changes that may require additional follow up by a health care professional;
Ø Provides assistance with activities of daily living or other needs as identified by the plan of care;
Ø Observes and report changes in resident’s physical, social, and emotional condition

Ø Makes recommendations for updates to the plan of care based on changes that are observed during interactions with the resident;
Ø Provide visitors with tours as required but refrains from giving information about availability or charges and refers all inquiries to GM by completing the General Enquiry form;
Ø Administer medications to residents as per best practice requirements outlined in the pharmacy manual;
Ø Completes housekeeping duties as assigned;
Ø Adhere to established routines and policies and procedures

Ø Communicate effectively with all team members

Ø Share responsibility for the care of equipment and the personal belongings of the residents

Ø Assist with the maintenance of records and documentation as assigned

Ø Completed education programs as required;
Ø Practice safety rules, use good body mechanics

Ø Practice good hand washing techniques and infection control measures

Ø Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs

Ø Assist volunteers

Ø Maintain work areas in clean manner

Ø Report any unsafe conditions in the building immediately to the General Manager

Ø Participate in the orientation process of residents, students, volunteers and co-workers

Ø Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety

Ø Follows all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act

Ø Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:

- Must possess current CPR & First Aid
- A PSW certificate or equivalent education
- Administration of Medication Certificate or equivalent medication administration training
- Must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills
- Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
- Computer literacy is preferred

Hours of Work:

- Available 7 days per week
- Flexible hours
- Schedules to be determined at the discretion of the Director of Wellness,
- Rotating shifts, weekday and weekend shifts

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 40 per week
