YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working closely with the analytical chemist and support the development analytical methods and analysis of bioactive plant-based extracts (flower and oil) before and after extraction, nutrient samples and finished products;-
- Prepare samples for HPLC, GC-MS and ICP-MS analysis to support optimization of production and manufacturing of cannabis products-
- Verify and document the laboratory equipment performance.-
- Maintain database inventory of biological and extracted products; track chemical inventory, and record data in laboratory notebooks and computer databases;-
- Conduct general quality assurance tasks in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements; and-
- Conduct general lab duties including material handling, cleaning of labware and other lab tasks and research as required.WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry with a strong background in organic and analytical chemistry.-
- Practical knowledge and experience with qualitative and quantitative techniques using HPLC-UV, GC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS.-
- Organized, good attention to details, and highly motivated.-
- Strong analytical and mechanical skills, with good ability to troubleshoot as needed.-
- Ability to comply with PPE requirements and SOP instructions.-
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and documentation processes; and- You are DILIGENT and THOROUGH, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and strict operational protocols.

You are an EXCEPTIONAL MULTITASKER, with the ability to prioritize and organize workloads, working on parallel activities simultaneously.

You are a PROBLEM SOLVER and are SOLUTIONS ORIENTED, with ability to troubleshoot equipment and situations, iterating as necessary.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- Experience of using HPLC, GC-MS and ICP-MS;-
- 2 years’ laboratory experience with organic materials such as plant extracts;-
- Experience analyzing secondary plant metabolites, mycotoxin and pesticide residues are strongly preferred; and-
- Experience with cannabis research and analysis considered an asset.WHAT WE OFFER:
