**About the Opportunity**:
York Hills is currently seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated subcontractors to provide **respite services** in **York Region. You will have experience with children and youth who have complex needs including, but not limited to: anxiety, attention difficulties, ASD, and emotional and behavioural needs.

The Respite subcontractor will provide services as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an individualized one-to-one respite service environment. You must have flexibility to work evenings and weekends providing in-home respite, or out-of-home care depending on the needs of the family and of the individual requiring respite.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Respite Services.

This is a very challenging, dynamic and rewarding role that requires a professional who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others by:

- Providing children/youth the one-to-one support and counselling they require;
- Providing a positive, stimulating, supervised and safe physical environment for children and youth;
- Assessing the mental health and emotional needs of the child/youth and planning suitable social and recreational activities such as playing games and going on outings in the community;
- Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team model to support communication, case planning and support.

**Job Type**:
Subcontractor
- Up to 12 hours per week
- Rate of pay $28.03/hour

**About the Qualifications**:

- A Child and Youth Worker Degree/Diploma or equivalent;
- A minimum of two years post-graduate experience working with children and families is preferred;
- A valid Drivers’ License, clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 million liability insurance
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Screening;
- Ability to speak French or another language is an asset;
- Knowledge of trauma informed approaches, child development and neurobiology;
- Committed to upholding the organization’s mission, values and standards;
- Able to participate in additional opportunities for learning and development;
- Thorough understanding of York Region and its resources.

The subcontractor role will be reporting to the Coordinator of Respite Services and provide invoices for payment on a monthly basis.
