Mission, Canada Zajac Ranch for Children Full time

**ABOUT US**:
Located on the shores of Stave Lake in Mission, BC, just one hour east of Vancouver, Zajac Ranch for Children is situated on over 40 acres of pristine forested land. During the summer months, Zajac Ranch provides camps for children and young adults with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions. In the off-season, Zajac Ranch welcomes school groups and private rentals. Revenue raised from site rentals goes to supporting Zajac Ranch for Children summer medical camps.

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Leader to join our team. As a part of our senior staff team, the Unit Leaders will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable summer camp experience for all those in their care.

**Reporting to**: Camp Director; Assistant Camp Director

**Specific Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Supervise and lead a team of employees to achieve operational goals
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity and performance
- Monitor and maintain quality standards for services or products
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
- Ensure that all aspects of camp life are: safe, inclusive, empowering, and fun.
- Supervise one of the three dorms.
- Run the CIT and LIT program
- Mentor and support all staff and volunteers.
- Be an active support for behaviour management incidents
- Coordinate and train volunteers with Camp Director.
- Actively participate during regular staff meetings.
- Communicate programming/scheduling issues with Camp Director.
- Pass along any maintenance requests to Camp Director.
- Write a weekly communication report on the details of our camp session

**Desired Experience**:

- Proven experience in a leadership role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience working with children, ideally with disabilities but not required

**Required Qualifications**:

- Standard First Aid
- CPR
- Ability to pass criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 2.5 months

Pay: $162.00 per day
