The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Income Tax Compliance, contributing as an integral leader within the enterprise income tax team will strategically evolve provisioning process execution and champion business value in the delivery of the Canadian income tax compliance services. Leveraging an enthusiasm for tax accounting and a drive for data excellence, the AVP, Income Tax Compliance will motivationally empower their team and contribute to the successful conveyance of income tax filings, income tax accounting provision services, and income tax audit support services for our group of companies (including Property & Causality (P&C) insurance, Life insurance and wealth).
**How you will create impact**:
- Overseeing and guiding the FATCA and CRA reporting process, income tax audits, income tax data management initiatives, income tax account reconciliations process, and directing the execution of the income tax payment process.
- Leading and managing the Canadian income tax accounting compliance provision process for all Canadian entities, including the execution of the income tax reconciliation process.
- Delivering an end-to-end efficient income tax compliance services, maintaining current knowledge of income tax legislative and/or accounting standard and administrative changes that will impact compliance requirements for the consolidated group of companies.
- Collaborating and communicating with efficacy to business partners, government authorities, and stakeholders to ensure tax accounts, filings, and elections are appropriately reflected.
- Monitoring and maintaining delivering metrics; and leveraging technology and data solutions to decrease overall compliance costs and effectively manage income tax risk.
- Leading and engaging your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

**To join our team**:
- You have 10 years+ of related experience in corporate tax initiatives; including multi-years of experience directly with income tax compliance.
- You have a post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, business, or in another related discipline.
- CPA Accounting designation, or a related professional accounting designation. Including the completion of In-depth Tax Course(s).
- You have applied income tax compliance knowledge within the insurance industry, financial services and/or banking sector.
- You have experience interpreting income tax changes and contributing to provisioning programs/initiatives that ensures accuracy and effectiveness for corporate income tax compliance.
- You are an experienced people leader, well-skilled in empowering and leading/co-leading teams to successfully deliver on business objectives.
**What you need to know**:
- You will travel occasionally.
- As a leader, strict confidentiality is required with respect to sensitive matters and employees’ personal information.
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
