At HTEC Hydrogen Technology & Energy Corporation, we’re unlocking the potential of hydrogen to reduce climate change and air pollution. Based in North Vancouver, we design, build, and operate hydrogen fuel supply solutions to support the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Every day, we’re delivering safe, reliable, convenient, sustainable, and low-cost hydrogen to customers and consumers, how, when, and where they need it.

**Job brief**

We are looking for a technician to help build, operate, and service hydrogen fuel supply equipment and systems. The role is expected to be 50 % field work, 40 % building in HTEC’s shop and 10 % in HTEC office for operation management and improvement initiatives.

**Responsibilities**

Perform maintenance and service of hydrogen stations within Lower Mainland, with occasional service required in Victoria and Kelowna to include:

- Fueling existing stations
- Assembling and servicing hydrogen equipment
- Installing new equipment
- Contributing to customer service
- Contributing to station monitoring and station reliability improvement
- Contributing to the design process of new equipment
- Participant in new equipment commissioning and start-up

**Requirements**:

- Successful completion of a relevant technician diploma
- Holder of a Class B or Class A Gas Fitter certificate is an asset
- 5+ years’ experience as technician
- Hands-on experience with installation or field service of mechanical system, piping, plumbing, electrical system, instrumentation and controls equipment
- Knowledge in understanding Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical drawings and electrical systems
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems
- Knowledge of safe work practice (PPE, working with flammable gas, rated zones, construction zones)
- Willing to Learn
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and able to contribute to team effort when required
- Willing to be on-call during some predetermined periods
- Some travel to stations in Victoria and Kelowna

**Assets, or willing to learn on the job**
- Experience working with High pressure gas systems (> 500 bar), Cryogenic equipment, Piping and pressure vessels, or Flammable gas an asset
- Class 3 Driver license.
- Experience working with hydrogen, nitrogen and/or liquid nitrogen.
- Experience with basic wiring, instrument diagnosis.
- Forklift certification.
- Able to document summaries, work orders, and status reports clearly.
- Knowledge of compressors, pressure vessels, valves, and/or seals.
- Experiences with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and controls software.
- Experience with Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies.
- Bilingual French/English an asset.
