Job Summary:
The lead hand is an essential members of construction teams, responsible for having a strong knowledge of the construction environment, and performing a variety of manual tasks to carry out the completion of construction projects. They work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople in specialized projects while having autonomy in various aspects of construction work, ranging from site preparation to finishing touches. The bread and butter of upcoming projects will be in decks, fences, gazebos, saunas, and many other outdoor builds as the summer approaches.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Site Preparation**: Assist in preparing construction sites for work, including clearing debris, layout and containment setup
- **Material Handling**: Transport and distribute construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated work areas as needed.
- **Demolition**: Assist with demolition activities by dismantling structures, removing debris, and clearing demolition sites safely and efficiently.
- **Assistance to Tradespeople**: Support skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers) by providing assistance with tasks such as carrying tools, holding materials, and performing basic installations.
- **Concrete Work**: Assist with concrete pouring, mixing, and finishing tasks, including the placement of concrete forms and the smoothing of surfaces.
- **Framing**:Perform basic carpentry tasks such as framing walls, boarding fences, boarding decks, and building small structures.
- **Structural Support**: Install and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding, bracing, temporary fencing, etc, to support construction activities.
- **Cleanup**: Maintain cleanliness and organization on construction sites by collecting and disposing of waste materials, sweeping, and ensuring hazardous materials are properly handled.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Safety boots required (hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection in certain environments)
- **Equipment Operation**: Operate basic construction equipment, such as mitre saws, table saws, nailing guns, jackhammers, compactors, augers, and others under the initial guidance of experienced operators.
- **Assistance with Specialized Tasks**: Assist with specialized construction tasks as needed, such as waterproofing, insulation installation, interior finishing work, etc.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
