The project:
The head of transformation is a new role reporting to the subways project director and is responsible for the design and implementation of a new operating model and supporting organisation design for the subways projects. This includes ensuring that all aspects of POPIT (People, Organisation, Process, Information and Technology) are addressed.

The role holder will work with key stakeholders to agree and lead a transformation program that embeds the operating model, realises the benefits of the delivery partner model, and delivers efficient ways of working between the two subways projects.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Working with the client executive team and program leads to develop and own the cross-functional transformation plan for the Scarborough and Yonge North (subways project), aligned to strategy and programs.
- Directing the strategic development, change management and implementation of transformation initiatives across all programs and workstreams.
- Developing the integrated delivery partner model across the projects lead on the improvements established through the gap assessments and subsequent auditing the projects on those improvements integrated with Lean initiatives across the IPDT.
- Liaising with the governance lead to align transformation with subways benefits and outcomes.
- Promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and innovation that values quality and service delivery excellence.
- Overseeing, coaching and mentoring staff involved in transformation initiatives.
- Driving adoption of lean principles to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinating with technical assurance and corporate functions to manage risk and controls.
- Ensuring processes are fit for purpose and reflect the progressive design and build contract environment.
- Championing innovative process improvement ideas and collaborate to test, pilot, and implement innovations and improvements across the Subways projects.
- Standardizing of project controls principles across the subways projects
- Developing interface project controls, data, and reporting needs to measure performance and inform decisions.
- Reporting progress on the transformation to keep stakeholders engaged and informed.

You’ll need to have:

- Extensive stakeholder management and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders, including internal and external clients, functions, and delivery teams.
- Experience of leading a large-scale transformation project in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of delivery partner models.
- Ability to create clarity from ambiguity.
- Experience building and leading cross-functional teams for large, complex transformational programs.
- Experience in the infrastructure and/or public sectors
- Relevant experience
